Respiratory & Sleep Medicine Specialist in Adelaide

Dr Heather Tan is a Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Physician with specialist training from the Royal Adelaide Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she also completed a fellowship in Sleep Medicine.


Her clinical practice spans general respiratory medicine — lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, asthma and COPD — together with a particular focus on sleep medicine, covering everything from obstructive sleep apnoea and sleep hypoventilation syndrome through to more complex presentations such as narcolepsy, parasomnias and restless legs syndrome.


She also travels regularly to Alice Springs Hospital as a visiting specialist, reflecting her broader commitment to expanding access to specialist care for rural and remote communities. Alongside her clinical work, she holds a clinical lecturer appointment at the University of Adelaide, where she teaches medical students and junior doctors.
